Ninja Ryukenden PC Engine (TurboGrafx-16) 1992Almost a direct port of the original NES game released in Japan 1992 and published by Hudson Soft. Ninja Gaiden for TurboGrafx-16 never made it outside Japan though, why exactly no one knows, as the system badly needed big name titles to support it existence. Ninja Ryukenden is the original Japanese title for Ninja Gaiden and can roughly be translated to Ninja Dragon Sword Legend. Ninja Ryukenden was a mixed bag, as it manager on some places to even better the original NES version, but unfortunately other changes were made that was not so welcome. Like small changes to the gameplay resulting in some stages becoming frustrating hard. The story however is identical to the NES version and overall Ninja Ryukenden on PC Engine TorboGrafx-16 is a pretty good game. |
