Ninja Gaiden Shadow GameBoy 1991

Ryu makes another appearance on a portable gaming system, this time it is on the ever popular GameBoy from Nintendo. Ryu made his handheld debut a year earlier on the Atari Lynx, but considering the few people who actually has one of these dinosaurs today, and when I say dinosaur I mean DINOASUR (Lynx owners out there will know what I am talking about), Ninja Gaiden Shadow on GameBoy will for most people be their first meeting with Ryu outside the NES, not taking the Arcade game into account. Gameplay wise Ninja Gaiden Shadow has most in common with Ninja Gaiden 3, and it’s not a direct port of any of the previous games. Rumors say that Shadow was originally programmed by Natsume, but Tecmo bought the rights to it and made a few changes to make it more like Ninja Gaiden. NG Shadow is by most fans of the series looked at as a decent game and a welcome member of the Ninja Gaiden family.
