Ninja Gaiden Sega GameGear 1991This was definitely the year of the handhelds for Ninja Gaiden. After appearing on both Atari’s Lynx and Nintendo’s GameBoy, it was now time for Ruy to bring some ninja action to the SEGA gamers. Remember the year is 1991, the war had already broken lose between Nintendo gamers and SEGA gamers, a war that was to last for years. The world was divided in two, the kids who played Nintendo games, and the kids who played SEGA games. What you see on the net today about people arguing over which system is best, PS2 or Xbox, is nothing compared to how it was like during the great consol war between SEGA and Nintendo. I had friends who got beaten up because they were caught “secretly” playing Super Mario at home. Which you would never do of course if you were a real SEGA fan. Those were the days, weren’t’ they. Anyway, Ninja Gaiden for SEGA Game Gear was so so, a tad slower than the NES version and also lacking in a few other departments as well, but over all Ninja Gaiden for SEGA Game Gear was pretty good. |
