Ninja Gaiden III The Ancient Ship of Doom 1991 NES

After the success and praises for the first two Ninja Gaiden games in the NES, Temco falls for the temptation to cash inn as much as they can while the Ninja Gaiden name is still hot. The result is a game that shows signs of lazy design work knowing that the game would sell anyway Tecmo seemed to be more worried about getting the game out in time than rather than making sure that Ninja Gaiden 3 would match the quality of first two games. While Ninja Gaiden 2 might have been too easy, The Ancient Ship of Doom has a reputation of being too hard. This time you take twice the damage from any hit, turning what was supposed to be easy foes into dangerous killers. To make things even more frustrating the game only gives you 5 continues. In the big picture not a horrible game but many fans of the series were not pleased with Tecmo’s effort with Ninja Gaiden 3. Though there are also those out there that claim Ninja Gaiden 3 to be their favorite game in the series.
